Is a Thermomix Worth It for Van Life? An Honest Take

By Debbie · The Botanical Kitchen On the Road

It's a fair question — a Thermomix isn't cheap, and van life is all about doing more with less. So is it actually worth it when space, water and power are limited? Here's my honest take, after cooking with one on the road.

I'll be upfront: I love mine, and I now help other people discover them. But I'd much rather you make the right decision for you than talk anyone into something that doesn't fit their life. So here's the balanced version.

The honest cons

So — who is it actually right for?

In my honest opinion, it's worth it if you genuinely want to keep cooking proper meals on the road but find the faff of a tiny kitchen is putting you off — and if you have the power setup and the budget to suit. If you're happy with a single hob, a sharp knife and simple meals, you absolutely don't need one to eat well in a van.

The best way to know is to see it working in a space like yours, with your questions answered, before you spend anything.
